Overview of Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek – 9 days

The Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is probably the best short trek in Nepal. It is total Nine days of wonderful treking and tour plan. The highlight of the Poon Hill trek is the beautiful sunrise and mountain view from the top of Poon Hill. Poon Hill is located on a short hike from Ghorepani.

The Annapurna circuit trek and Annapurna Base camp trek is yet another most visited destination you will visit in the Annapurna region.

The Gurungs are the main settlers of the Annapurna region. We will be staying with them for most of our trek. We will get a glimpse of their culture and tradition while spending a night at their home-stays. The Gurung people are renowned for their hospitality.

You will wake up with the chirping birds in the morning. The Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek path is covered by dense rhododendron, pine, and oak forests. Waterfalls and streams flow in numbers in the subtropical valleys of the Annapurna. You will experience life as experienced by an ancient saint.

Ghandruk village is another highlight of this Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek. It is a beautiful Gurung village that is famous for its panoramic mountain view. Ghandruk is also a popular one-night hiking destination because of its proximity to Nayapul, the place where our trek starts.

Detail Itinerary - Day to Day Route Description

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300 m / 4,665 ft) and transfer to hotel.

Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseeing ( Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swoyambhunath Stupa, Pasupatinath Temple and Boudhanath Stupa) ,

Day 03: Drive to Pokhara (822 m / 2,696 ft), 6-7 hours, and transfer to hotel.

Day 04: Drive to Nayapul by private vehicle, one and half hours, and trek to Tikhedhunga (1,475 m / 4,855 ft), 3-4 hours of walk.

Day 05: Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani (2,860 m / 9,383 ft), 6-7 hours of walk.

Day 06: Morning hike to Poon Hill (3,210 m), 1-2 hours, and trek to Ghandruk (1,940 m / 6,364 ft), 6 -7 hours of walk.

Day 07: Ghandruk to Kimche, 1 hour 30 Minute of walk, and drive to Pokhara (820 m/ 2,690 ft), 2 Hours and Half by private Car

Day 08: Drive to Kathmandu (1,300 m / 4,665 ft), 6-7 hours, by tourist bus.

Day 09: Departure from Kathmandu or extend your trip.
