INTRODUCTION

Poon Hill Trek is ideal for any individual who has got limited holiday period or for individuals who need a short trek in Nepal and want to explore all the mountain views and scenes of Himalaya. The Himalayan vistas on Poon Hill Trek unquestionably pack a punch, particularly when you climb Poon Hill as the sun ascends over these excellent mountains. The route starts from the steps of Nayapul and also ends in there. From Nayapul we will follow the routes around Ghorepani and then down to the Ghandruk. The path offers a fresh and beautiful site of various snow-capped mountains and a look into conventional Nepali way of life.

The accommodations on the route for this trek is small tea house lodges and a steep climb of 3300 stages to reach Ulleri and following the trails of River Bhurungdi east past swamp rice fields and thick wildernesses where you will see monkeys playing and numerous types of birds resting in their nests and trees.

Throughout the trek, we will have the clear view of summits like Annapurna South, Barasikha, Nilgiri, Hiunchuli, Machhapuchhre (mostly known as Fishtail mountain), the Dhaulagiri mountain range and Tukuche Peak. The breathtaking 360-degree of these beautiful mountains can be clearly seen from the top Poonhill, alongside you will get the opportunity to become more acquainted with the Nepali individuals and taste the neighborhood indulgences.

Outline Itinerary

Day 01: Drive to Nayapul 1 hours 30 minutes by private vehicle, & start trek to Tikhedhunga [1540M / 5052FT] 3-4 hours walk

Day 02: Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani [2860M / 9383FT] 6-7 hours walk

Day 03: Hike to Poon Hill [3210M / 10,531FT],and trek to Tadapani [2590M / 8497FT], estimated walk 6-7 hours.

Day 04: Tadapani to Nayapul [1070M / 3510FT],6-7 hours and drive to Pokhara [1070M / 3510FT] by private vehicle

Detail Itinerary

Day 01: Drive to Nayapul 1:30 minutes by private vehicle, & start trek to Tikhedhunga [1540M / 5052FT] 3-4 hours walk

Today we will advance towards our main trekking - Ghorepani Poon Hill Trekking. It takes around 1.5 hours to reach to Nayapul and the path takes us right through the beautiful forests and hillsides of Annapurna region. We will be taking a private vehicle to reach to Nayapul. When we reach Nayapul, we will prepare ourselves to begin our trek to reach Tikhedhunga. The trail to reach Tikhedhunga starts with straightforward downhill and easy trek. Proceeding onward we will reach to a place called Birenthanti [1080M/3543FT] and other small and typical villages of Annapurna region such as Matathanti, Ramgai, Sudame, Hille and then taking us directly to Tikhedhunga. The way follows the trails of excellent Modi River. Trekking to Tikhedhunga is simple and the trail is extremely easy compared to other trekking days. The every place we experience through this course is thickly settled and the place is free from city contaminations and loud vehicle noises. During the evening our guide will be giving some profitable information for our upcoming trekking days. We will make our overnight remain in Tikhedhunga.

Day 02: Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani [2860M / 9383FT] 6-7 hours walk

In the morning we will have our breakfast in the Hotel and start our trekking to Ghorepani. The trek starts by following the trails of excellent Modi River and passing it through a high suspension bridge. After passing the beautiful Modi river, we will be trekking for an hour until the point when we reach a place called Ulleri Village [2080M/6824FT]. This intense trail to Ulleri offers us the excellent views of the mountains like Annapurna South and later on Hiun Chuli and Mt. Fishtail. The place is thickly populated and has heaps of facilities and shelters for trekkers taking this course. When we pass this town, we will pass a couple of other little villages like Banthanti [2300M/7545FT.] and Nangethanti [2450M/8038FT]. Proceeding onward with the trekking, we will take the course that leads us straightforwardly through Rhododendron forests. After a long walk, we will be accomplishing our objective i.e. Ghorepani Village. These Rhododendron timberlands look surprising in the midst of March - Late April. The place is one of the best places of the whole trekking and offers you astonishing sights of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Mt. Fishtail, Dhaulagiri run and other wonderful mountains.

Day 03: Hike to Poon Hill [3210M / 10,531FT],and trek to Tadapani [2590M / 8497FT], estimated walk 6-7 hours

Here we will begin our trek to the main destination of our entire trekking i.e. climb to Poon Hill. Poon Hill is the superb viewpoint which offers you breathtaking sights of the considerable number of mountains like Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges. We should begin our climb in the very first hour of the morning with the goal that we can achieve the highest point of Poon Hill before the sun ascends over the Himalayas. This dawn over the snow capped mountains is just stunning and gives you the experience of your lifetime. From the highest point of the Poon Hill, we will have stunning views of Dhaulagiri I, II, III, IV, V, Dhampus Peak, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Barah Sikhar, Mt. Fishtail, Nilgiri South, Tukuche and beautiful mountain peaks. After enjoying a moment of beautiful Himalayas from Poonhill, we will make our way back to the hotel to have warm breakfast. Then we will begin our trek to next goal i.e. Tadapani. At first, the trail follows an uphill path to Deurali [2990M/9809FT] and then goes down to Banthanti [2520M/8267FT].The path to reach Tadapani is downhill as we will be trekking to less height than Ghorepani.

Day 04: Tadapani to Nayapul [1070M / 3510FT],6-7 hours and drive to Pokhara [1070M / 3510FT] by private vehicle

Today will be the last day of our bit long down trek. We will have our morning breakfast in the lodge and set ourselves up for the trek towards Nayapul. Again while moving back to where we began our first adventure, you will have an amazing view of Annapurna region summits. The way is simple and level in contrast with other trekking days. When we achieve Nayapul, we will take a private vehicle to reach to Pokhara. Today will be your last day in the mountain area and with your guide and porters.

Regarding personal equipment all trekkers need to bring with you a pair of well broken trek Boot, sleeping bag, down Jacket, pullovers, neck scarf, etc. for Evening/night/morning use, Sun Hat, casual warm clothing for day use, some pairs of good quality socks Apart from above please bring slippers, suntan lotions and personal medication.
